Welcome to the first training module. Goals of this module are as follows:
Familiarize yourself broadly with the National Diabetes Prevention Program and how it is delivered
Understand who is eligible for this program
Introduce you to Cooperative Extension's current role in the delivery of the DPP
Provide resources for further readings, interest groups that you may leverage for additional resources and connect with other agents in other states (or something)
The National Diabetes prevention Program focuses on healthy eating and physical activity to promote weight loss and behavior change over the course of the 12-month program.
Cooperative Extension serves as a potentially important bridge between higher-need rural populations and the delivery of this program.
Have suggestions to improve the trainings or this site as a whole? We'd love to hear them! Send all suggestions to Gerit Wagner, MPH, RDN, LD at gwagner4@kumc.edu.
